Senior Metropolitan Championships – Event Cancelled
Due to the severe weather forecast associated with Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the Brisbane Senior Metropolitan Championships scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled.
All nomination fees will be automatically refunded via Swim Central—no action is required from swimmers or clubs.
While Swimming Brisbane explored options to reschedule, unfortunately, no alternative weekend is available.
To ensure Brisbane Senior Metropolitan medallists, major awards & aggregate award winners can be recognised, Swimming Qld are extending nominations for the Swimming Qld National Preparation Meet & Jess Schipper Challenge (15–16 March 2025) until 9:00am Monday. This provides an opportunity for eligible Brisbane swimmers to nominate.

Brisbane Senior Metropolitan medals will be awarded during the Swimming Qld National Preparation Meet & Jess Schipper Challenge, for events that are included in that program. However as some events are not part of that program, certain medals cannot be awarded.
Age group of competitors is age as at the first day of competition, 15 March. Minimum age for the Speedo National Preparation Meet is 13 years for Females and 14 years for Males; and 12 years for Multi Class athletes. While, minimum age for the Jess Schipper Challenge is 11 years.
